MR ROOF

Dishonesty of Mr. Roof
My neighbors got a new roof a few months ago from Mr. Roof.
They said they did extensive research and Mr. Roof was the cheapest around. They loved Dale, the salesman. Since we need a new roof, we contact Dale.
He came over, did an excellent presentation, gave us a quote $2,000 more than my neighbors house (which is similar is size if not a bit bigger). I then showed him my rebate coupon and he said it was already included in the price. (how could it be included if they didn't know I had the coupon to begin with?). It is a rebate, not a discount.
I thought this was very dishonest. We love the product and really want to go with this company, however, not sure if we should trust them anymore. I called the office and they took two days to get back to me. They told me it was already included in the price, (how could it be included if they didn't know I had the coupon to begin with?).
I also told him (the manager) about the $2,000 price different and he told me the neighbors house was smaller and starting arguing with me. I was at work and didn't have time for this and thought it was very unprofessional.
I hung up. What do you think of this situation?

VERY HIGH PRESSURE SALES PERSON!!!!!
We are in our 70's and should have known better to make a deal with them for the price they were pushing. The life time guarantee is a JOKE!!!
It's not valid if you don't get in contact with them 10 yrs after installation, they give you 6 months, 3 months before installation date 10 yrs ago and 3 months after installation 10 yrs ago. Ah who can remember that? We went with the company because we are leaving the house to our daughter thinking she would be set with life time guarantee, we didn't find out about the 10 yrs *** until after the job was done & paid for. 1.
They did a good job. 2. Waaaay over priced ( we regret doing business with them) 3. The life time guarantee is a joke!!!
3. Run don't walk if you see Mr. Roof comming!!!4. Just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
The house is single story, 1,ooo sq feet, garage 2 car.
We got cheaper shingles on garage and med priced on house, no gutter work, salesman said " $ 13,000, kept pushing, I said $ 9,000, he says I'll call my boss=ok, $ 9,000=we were stupid/ should have known we were paying waaaay too much. = A couple of dummies in Taylor.
Honesty
I'm not big at writing reviews but I have to say this situation upset me so much with Mr. Roof I had to write this.
My 92yr old mother-in-law just got a roof done last week. She paid 1/2 cash up front and the balance when the job was done (which she paid) the roofer which I am wanting to name his name but won't tried to come back and say my mother-in-law didn't pay, thankfully she had a receipt!!!! If she could not produce this receipt unfortunately this *** who is trying to screw over a 92yr old women would have made away with pocketing 1300.00...... You know who you are loser, how do you live with yourself.
I'm sure this is not the first time our little friend has pulled this. Be Aware......
Preferred solution: Watch your employees
Didn't keep their word and preyed on my elderly widowed mother

I wouldn't worry about contacting them in 10 years. The likelihood that they'll still be in business ranges from slim to none.
However, there will be other documentation for your daughter to keep as homeowner, so just put this with it and stick a neon note on the folder if need be.
Thankfully, "they did a good job".
Did they remove any old shingles first ?
I don't know where you're located but here in the Midwest a house and double garage as described would likely range between 4-6 the last time I checked.
Don't be so hard on yourselves. You didn't get hung that badly and the problems have hopefully been repaired.
You most definitely are not "dummies" because you were intelligently planning for the future. I don't know anyone who hasn't paid what they instinctively knew was too much for something (self included, emphasized) .
Mr. Roof most certainly will be in business 10 years from now.
There is no other roofing company that installs the products and offers a warranty such as them. Honestly I think to have an inspection every 10 years is a great thing. It gives an opportunity to find areas of concern and have them brought to your attention. To have an inspection to certify your warranty is no different than changing the oil in your car.
It is part of maintenance and an insurance for when you will need service. I am also aware that Mr. Roof will transfer your warranty to anyone who owns the property in the future.
You have purchased the last roof for your home. It becomes an asset to your home with a warranty like they offer.
